Trying products before deciding what is worth buying can make online shopping easier, especially when photos alone do not tell you everything about fit, fabric or quality.
SHEIN has an official Free Trial Center that allows eligible users to apply for selected products, receive an item if chosen, and submit a detailed review after testing it.
The program is designed to give shoppers a closer look at products while generating feedback for other customers.

What Is the SHEIN Free Trial Center?
The Free Trial Center is a section within SHEIN where eligible account holders can browse products available for testing and submit applications.
Being able to apply does not mean every request will be approved. SHEIN states that participants are selected through an automated system, and the odds can depend on the number of applicants for a particular item.
When an application is approved, the selected product is sent to the address provided during the application process. The item can then be tested before the participant submits a review with their experience.
Who Can Participate?
According to SHEIN’s current Free Trial Help Center, active SHEIN user accounts can participate as long as the account is not restricted and the user is at least 18 years old.
Free Trial application limit
The program allows up to 3 Free Trial applications per week.
The available products can also vary depending on the market, inventory and current offers. This means the products visible in one country or region may not be the same as those available elsewhere.
How Does SHEIN Free Trial Work?
The process is relatively straightforward:
1. Log In to Your SHEIN Account
Start by signing into your existing SHEIN account and opening the Free Trial Center through the platform.
2. Browse Available Products
Look through the products currently open for Free Trial applications. Available items can change, so the selection is not necessarily the same every time you visit.
3. Choose a Product and Apply
Select the product you are interested in, choose the correct size when applicable, enter your shipping information and submit the application.
4. Check Your Application Status
After submitting, you can check the status through your Free Trial area. SHEIN’s system selects participants from the applications received for each item.
5. Receive and Test the Product
If selected, the product is processed and shipped to the address provided.
While testing it, pay attention to details such as quality, style, fit, fabric and construction.
6. Submit Your Review
After receiving the product, participants are asked to submit a detailed, honest and accurate review, ideally within 10 days.
Photos are also part of the review process.
What Should You Include in a Free Trial Review?
A useful review goes beyond saying that a product is “good” or “bad.” SHEIN recommends including practical details that another shopper would want to know before placing an order.
Your review can cover:
- Fit: Is the sizing accurate? How does the item feel when worn?
- Material: How does the fabric or material feel?
- Quality: Does the product seem well made?
- Style: Does it look like the product shown online?
- Pros and cons: What did you like, and what could be improved?
- Photos: Show the actual product clearly and include useful details.
SHEIN specifically recommends using your own photos rather than images taken from the website or from other customers.
Are Free Trial Products Really Free?
For a successful Free Trial application, SHEIN says the product is processed as a free trial item and shipped to the selected participant.
Shipping fees are covered, although customs duties or tariffs may still apply in certain situations, depending on the shipment and destination.
The product does not need to be returned after a successful Free Trial. SHEIN’s FAQ states that selected participants can keep the item as part of their participation.
Can You Earn SHEIN Points?
Yes. SHEIN’s Free Trial program can also provide points for approved reviews.
Review rewards
- 20 SHEIN Points for a review that meets the required guidelines
- 100 additional points for a review that qualifies as a Quality Review
The quality of the review matters. SHEIN says a Quality Review should include the participant’s opinions, as well as both positive and negative aspects of the product when applicable.
Why Wasn’t My Application Selected?
Not being selected does not necessarily mean there is a problem with your account.
SHEIN says Free Trial participants are chosen at random through an automated system, and the odds depend in part on how many people apply for a specific item.
You can continue applying when new opportunities become available, as long as you remain eligible.
Keep in mind
Because the number of applicants can vary from product to product, some items may be more competitive than others.
What Should You Check Before Applying?
Before submitting a Free Trial request, make sure your information is accurate.
In particular, check your:
- Size
- Shipping address
- Account details
SHEIN states that some of this information cannot be changed after the order has been generated.
It is also worth checking your account regularly since available products and application opportunities can change over time.
