Visa Flexible Credential coming this year will allow customers to use a single card for multiple credit, bank accounts and payment options!

This week, Visa has made a big announcement promising a more compact experience for Americans when it comes to managing their credit and debit cards. At Visa’s annual Payments Forum in San Francisco, the company introduced its latest innovation, the Visa Flexible Credential, which is already in use in Asia, but will be introduced to the U.S. later this year. This new feature will enable customers to access payment options from multiple credit and bank accounts, including “Buy Now Pay Later” plans, all through a single card.

Visa will also be looking into to expand mobile payment capabilities by allowing any device to function as a point-of-sale (POS) device for payments. Customers will also be able to use their devices to confirm their identities, add cards to wallets or apps, and make person-to-person payments through tapping.

In addition to that, Visa is introducing a new Payment Passkey Service, allowing customers to make online payments by scanning their face or a fingerprint, eliminating the need for passwords or one-time codes.

Jack Forestell, Visa’s chief product and strategy officer, emphasized the significance of these advancements, stating, “The industry is at a pivotal point – new technologies like Gen AI are rapidly shifting how we shop and manage our finances”.

“We’re announcing the next generation of truly digital-native payment card experiences.”Today we unveiled new card features and digital innovations that will bring consumers into a more customized, convenient and secure future”, says Forestell.
